What's up guys!!
We got transfer news and unfortunately Sister Johnson and I are out of Holly Springs :(( right as we start picking up things in the area of course they kick me out XD I'm super sad to leave and am going to miss a few of our peoples baptisms but that's ok. Missionary work goes on and we celebrate together in spirit
This week we spent the majority of it indoors due to ice storms, lots of snow or the inability to drive anywhere. We've done a lot of member zoom lessons and gotten some awesome referrals! We started up our come follow me bible study page and had a great turnout on Sunday! The idea is for ward members to invite their friends, we invite our friends on Facebook in the area and then also our teaching pool to a Bible study lesson every Sunday evening. Yesterday we derailed from the curriculum and spent time in Matthew 14, highlighting Peter walking on water and having the faith to persevere through the stormy sea. Turns out, Madison, a girl we found on Facebook, really needed to hear that as she's watching her grandma slowly pass away and now is interested in taking the missionary lessons. What a neat blessing!
Mandy, our cute 17 year old friend is doing amazing!! She downloaded the gospel library app and has been reading the For Strength of Youth pamphlet on her own each night as she studies the Book of Mormon. We did a commandments lesson and word of wisdom. The next day we felt prompted to go over sabbath day observance and turns out that was what she had studied over the previous evening and had questions on!! She's amazing, such a light and joy to be around. She wants us to teach her family but they are hesitant. We keep praying her family will soften their hearts and let us in!
We had some pretty amazing and deep lessons with Kevin. This man has changed. From the grumpy, depressed and non religious man we found him as, he's a completely different person. He opened up to us about how he knows God better and when he prays, someone really is listening. He got emotional when he found out we were getting transferred out and said, "God can't be taking my sisters...He just can't. But they must be special enough that He needs their influence elsewhere. I can't stop them for helping someone in the way they helped me." He literally has a trip planned to come visit once we are home
We also said goodbye to Charlie and cole. Super emotional goodbyes. Cole actually cried and touched his heart saying we were forever people he would talk about. He said our friendship is eternal and we will forever be people he truly truly cares about. Super sad...goodbyes are never easy. See you later are. I can't wait to be back!
Anyways, that's the week. We'll be doing other stop bys to say goodbye to our peeps but it's been real here in Holly springs! Lots of good spiritual highs that really have been eye opening to the Lord's hand in His work. These people are special here. So open to the gospel and ready to learn. What a fun time this has been!
Hope you all are doing well! Thanks for all the love!
