You are in my prayers

Haven’t most of us heard that phrase—and said it ourselves at one time or another?

In recent days I have felt the strength of this offering from friends who love and care for me, who I know are praying for me by name with my challenges in mind. And I feel a renewed focus in my desire to make a positive difference through prayer in the lives of those I love and hold special concern for at this time.

I’m moved by Christ’s example of praying for one who was dear to him. In the setting of the Last Supper, Peter expressed the conviction of his faith. But Jesus knew Peter would need more and told him, “I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not…” Luke 22:32.

Will you pause for a minute to consider that…

Elder Bednar reminds us that “Petitioning Heavenly Father for the blessings we desire in our personal lives is good and proper. However, praying earnestly for others … is also an important element of meaningful prayer. Just as expressing gratitude more often in our prayers enlarges the conduit for revelation, so praying for others with all of the energy of our souls increases our capacity to hear and to heed the voice of the Lord.”

And he asks, “Do our spouses, children, and other family members likewise feel the power of our prayers offered unto the Father for their specific needs and desires?”

”Pray Always,” Ensign, Nov. 2008, 43.

We can truly support and bless others through the “work and service” of our prayers—

Who needs your prayers at this time?

What we’re talking about

This Sunday our Relief Society gathering will be an informal time to connect with each other. Please join us for a little inspiration and a little catching up… and even a little treat!

To our sisters serving outside of Relief Society, we wish you could be in the room with us on Sunday. If your calling is keeping you with others during the RS hour, stop by after the meeting to say “hi” and grab a goodie. ❤️

What we’re reading

This week our Come Follow Me reading is Genesis 1-2; Moses 2-3, and Abraham 4-5: “In the Beginning God Created the Heaven and the Earth.”
