Sister Skinner 11/8/21
Xin Chào các bạn bè!
Grand is God!
Let me set the stage.
We just baptized our teaching pool, and we had to stop teaching our most progressing friends this week.
It seems like everyone is focusing on our numbers and that pretty much if you aren't finding, teaching, and baptizing you don't have enough faith.
We have only found 2 people for the week and it's Sunday morning.
We call the family we are teaching. The dad was out late with his friends and still isn't home yet. No way to get those kids to church.
Calling left and right and inviting everyone to church all week and then Sunday morning comes and no one is answering.
Then to add to it, we left the house a bit later than usual to get to the church, which seems small but that just seemed to add to my feelings of a failure.
BUT then I realized, all the stoplights to the church were GREEN!! That never happens! And I had the distinct thought that those green lights were from God! "Look for more tender mercies Sister Skinner!!"
So we get to church and start doing our usual greetings.
In walks Kris. My thoughts: "At least we got Kris here, he didn't want to come yesterday when we called him"
We go upstairs, and the meeting starts with the hymn.
And then!
KARLO WALKS IN!! We didn't talk to him all week per his request for a "break" I wanted to cry. I was so happy!
THEN!!
J$, one of our Recent Converts gets sustained for the PRIESTHOOD!!!
In walks Arlie and Wendy our other RCs!!
Then Kris! Who was hesitant to pay tithing, during the meeting he tried to give me his tithing! I told him where he could find the slips!
AND THEN!! The greatest miracle of all.
Susan walks in with two of her daughters.
Susan is from the Plainview ward. She hit her year of being baptized when Sister Hilmo and I got there. She was one of the reasons why leaving Plainview was so hard.
But she just walks in and sees me and comes and sits by me! And... wow.
Isn't God grand! He knew I needed Susan that day. He was telling me that I love the people and that's all He asks.
I got to play tic-tac-toe all sacrament meeting with her kids and listen to Karlo bare his testimony again. (Please keep praying for him.)
And THEN!!
Last night we found 2 more people! Who are the most prepared people I met! God is grand.
And God loves you always! Just because you felt His love yesterday doesn't mean He won't send His love today.
Missionary work is a rollercoaster! But God is constant.
Love,
Chị Skinner
