Sister Koger 11/29/21
OK so it all began last Sunday when our ward mission leader asked us if we would want him to take us on a tour of our area. He said that the three of us could bike around and he could point out some key members to visit, places to avoid, and people that were previously taught. This was a very kind offer of him, especially because we are opening a new area and know little to nothing about our area and have no dots (or people being taught) in our area book.
On Wednesday we met him at the chapelle and he had his MOTORCYCLE. Almost immediately he said," OK follow me." Then he took off so fast... we literally biked faster than we ever have and still could not keep him in view. After about a mile, he stopped on the side of the road for us to catch up, and then TOOK OFF AGAIN. It was actually quite the parade, because I'm not kidding you, every couple of blocks, random members of the Elders quorum would join in the line on either bike or motorcycle. We rode around Papeete like that for a few hours and holy moly I love this place. It's absolutely insane and I do not ever know what's going on, but the love that people here have for each other is beautiful. :)
This week alone I have seen about 17 Weiner dogs and held a cat and it did not give me any diseases so it has been a fabulous week! Our sink is currently broken, I have 26 mosquito bites, we get cat called at least 4 times a day, and life could not be better.
I've been reflecting a lot this week about why the Lord needs me here. I can't seem to communicate well, and hardly ever know what is going on, but I do know that there is a very specific reason for me being here. On Friday night during our Fatamaraa I bore really simple testimony of the importance of missionary work and the love of God that we have the responsibility to share, and I felt the spirit SO STRONG. Sister Koger on this tiny island between Hawaii and Australia is so looked after by a Father in Heaven who loves me, and I know he loves you too.
I turn 20 today and feel a little weird that I'm an old person, but maybe Iriti will stop telling me I'm like a baby now. She goes from calling me Kim Kardashian because I lived in California before here, to calling me a baby because I was a teenager and all I can do is smile at people. We love her the most. Lmk if you want me to send you a video of her telling me that she's Paris Hilton. It will make you laugh I promise:) as I am typing this email, she is telling me that I look like a witch because my nose is pointy lol smh.
Ua here au ia tatau
