· Wednesday, June 30 from 2:00 – 7:00 PM
· 245 S. 600 E. – Cultural Hall
· For an appointment go to redcrossblood.org using SPONSOR CODE: Springville Stake
Due to COVID regulations this drive will be by appointment ONLY. Contact Courtney Curtis @801-836-8517 with any questions or help with online appointments.
What we’re talking about
This Sunday, Holly Dorough will lead us in a discussion of President Nelson’s conference address, “Christ Is Risen; Faith in Him Will Move Mountains.”
“The Lord does not require perfect faith for us to have access to His perfect power. But He does ask us to believe.”
What we’re reading
This week our Come Follow Me reading is D&C 67-70, “Worth … the Riches of the Whole Earth.”
“Although many of the revelations in the Doctrine and Covenants were addressed to specific people in specific circumstances, they “are profitable for all”… As you study, look for truths and principles that are profitable for you.”
Getting to know you… Susan Talbot
I, along with my husband Steve, moved to Springville from North Salt Lake. We lived there for five years. Before that we lived in Escondido which is in San Diego County for thirty-seven years. I was born in Santa Monica, CA and grew up in Pittsburg, Oregon and Murray, Utah. My husband grew up in Panguitch in southern Utah. We have five children and seventeen grandchildren. Our children and their families live in Seattle, Mesa, Michigan, Bountiful and Mapleton (which is what brought us to Springville). We wish everyone lived closer but it is also fun to travel to visit everyone. My husband and I love to camp and hike together. Favorite destinations are Yellowstone and the Uintahs. I enjoy music, gardening, sewing, studying the scriptures, and keeping a journal of things that inspire me. This is one of my favorite quotes which has been really helpful to me in hard times: "I testify that in this and every hour [Christ] is, with nail-scarred hands, extending to us...grace, holding on to us and encouraging us, refusing to let us go until we are safely home in the embrace of Heavenly Parents." (Elder Jeffrey R. Holland) So far I have loved living in Springville and look forward to getting to know all of you in my new ward.
Happy Birthday to you
